Rep. Kilmer tours our production facility

Congressman Derek Kilmer visits Tool Gauge in Tacoma

Today, we were honored to welcome U.S. Representative of Washington’s 6th Congressional District Derek Kilmer to our Tacoma manufacturing facility. The Congressman requested a factory tour following our recent announcement about the future expansion of our manufacturing facility, an estimated investment amounting to $5 to $7 million that will create up to 100 new jobs in our region over the next five years.

In addition to his aides, Rep. Kilmer was accompanied by several members of the Washington State Department of Commerce’s Choose Washington initiative, including Adam Kephart, STEP Export Voucher Program Business Development Manager, Isabelle DeWulf, Aerospace Business Development Manager, and Chris Green, Assistant Director.

During the tour, Congressman Kilmer had the opportunity to speak with some of our employees on the factory floor. He then met with Tool Gauge’s leadership team, including CEO Debbie Lee, Controller Jim Volz, and Sales & Marketing Manager Jim Lee, to discuss partnership opportunities for further economic development of the region. Although the aerospace supply chain is often referred to as the unsung hero of the U.S. economy, the Pacific Northwest region’s leading-edge innovation, technical know-how, and advanced engineering workforce speak for themselves. In 2016 alone, Washington state companies produced nearly 90% of all passenger planes built in North America.

The Tool Gauge team would like to thank Rep. Kilmer and the members of the Washington State Department of Commerce for taking the time out of their busy schedules to come and visit our manufacturing facility and show their support of our local aerospace industry.
